The Managing Director provides an exciting leadership career path outside of the Partner structure for Mazars professionals that best fits their different goals and opportunities. It is a high-level executive position for our technical experts who fill a particular niche, or individuals that lead a specialty practice area tied to a unique revenue stream for the firm.

Meet Our New Mazars Managing Directors:
Charles Gardner leads the Real Estate Valuation Services group and provides extensive experience performing valuations of real estate across all asset types ranging from commercial and residential to retail. Charles is a trusted advisor, concentrating on serving pension funds, asset managers and institutional real estate investors. He is an active member of NCREIF and is based in Florida.
Steven Greene is a seasoned tax veteran in the field of financial services. He is a specialty tax technician serving both life and property/casualty insurance companies. Steve is sought out as a leader in the Pennsylvania Tax Practice, a valuable resource for clients and always finds time to mentor, teach and develop the tax professional teams. He is a valued leader in our insurance tax practice.
Harold Hecht is our State and Local Tax Practice Leader (SALT) based in our New York City office and is experienced leading SALT teams, setting group strategy/growth metrics, mentoring/developing teams, and serving clients based in any of the 50 states or 1,000+ localities/municipalities in the U.S. He is a frequent speaker and thought leadership contributor both domestically and globally on all areas of US indirect, local and sales tax matters.
Avi Lazerowitz enhances our Not for Profit practice group delivering deep experience and technical expertise. Based in our New York office, Avi took on more responsibility in terms of our audit practice, yellow book niche area and government cost report practice. He presents at Board meetings, prospect meetings and public speaking engagements and is instrumental in pivoting to advisory, expanding our services to clients and marketing to prospects.
Gary Litvak is a valuable contributor to the growth of the Financial Advisory Services Practice, particularly in the Services to Lenders sector. Gary built deep relationships with key clients so that Mazars USA is the first choice for diligence projects and he is the go-to individual for several industries including healthcare, financial services and commodities. Gary maintains the firm’s Russian desk and contributes to new business, both as a result of the desk and through his extensive business contacts.
Dan Pfeiffer’s substantial Healthcare experience is in the Managed Care industry, successfully serving clients in both the payer and provider communities. Dan represented a wide array of clients, including Medicare Advantage plans, Managed Medicaid, Managed Long-Term Care payers, Special Needs Plans, single/multi-specialty provider groups (e.g., IPAs), hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies and ancillary providers. He is well regarded as a mentor and career coach to many payer-provider advisory team members.
Seth Rabe is a known expert and resource in the State and Local Tax (SALT) space sought out by our professionals and clients. He serves both domestic and international clients with respect to their US indirect, local and sales tax needs, spanning compliance, advisory and provisions. Seth authored tax alerts, facilitated webcasts, and taught many workshops on a range of SALT matters.
Hitomi Sato leads the tax provision calculations and reviews of our largest, preeminent global tax clients across various industries. She is a go-to specialist for our professionals and clients for all aspects of provisioning. Most recently, Hitomi was instrumental in introducing and closing a substantial client win for Mazars, thanks to her strong network and relationship-building skills. She also assists the Audit & Accounting Council with annual income tax training.
Joe Strickland is a Registered Architect and leads our Cost Segregation Practice. He is a consultant and practice leader, with extensive experience in the real estate development and construction industry, advising owners, operators and developers in performing cost segregation studies across all asset types. Joe is recognized as a trusted advisor and expert, serving as a stakeholder with the IRS and presenting in various public speaking engagements.
Stephen Wilson’s Healthcare expertise is rooted in value-based contracting, data analysis, and operational management and oversight. Based in California, he is attuned to the forward-thinking and ever-changing healthcare dynamics on behalf of clients nationwide. He leads the Data Analytics team and is a recognized thought-leader in the Managed Care marketplace, authoring numerous articles and speaking at many industry events.
