The Mazars 2017 US Water Industry Outlook
In the fourth edition of the Outlook, we focused on energy efficiency programs and cybersecurity. Energy efficiency is considered key to improving service and securing the industry’s future, while an increasingly large number of water suppliers are realizing their vulnerability to cyber attacks. We also present insight into the perspectives of water professionals and stakeholders from both an operational and financial perspective, including identifying future industry trends, especially around addressing scarcity issues and fixing aging infrastructure.

The Mazars USA LLP 2015 Water Industry Outlook
This year’s Outlook, the third since 2012, provides an overall picture of the water industry from an operational and financial perspective, as well as identifying future trends.
Key Findings Include:
• The water industry is increasingly technology focused, viewing technology and innovation as the means to address its challenges.
• Tariff increases drove growth, with technical expertise and competitive pricing being significant success factors.
• The majority of respondents said that the rate approval process needs to be simplified and that financing was readily available and accessible.
• The top rated industry trends were privatization, partnerships, and acquisitions.
