Office Managing Partner, New Jersey Practice

Michael is the Office Managing Partner of Mazars’ New Jersey Practice and has over 17 years of experience providing audit, accounting, tax and advisory services, and specializes in delivering such services to clients in the manufacturing and distribution (“M&D”) segment. Michael has extensive experience in assessing internal controls and the associated risks with the application of audit procedures relating to contractual arrangements, costing and valuation of inventory, as well as debt and equity transactions. Michael has assisted clients in M&A transactions both on the buy and the sell side as well as restructuring. The M&D clients that Michael services include mid-size domestic and international companies in industrials, food and beverage, and consumer products. These clients range from family owned to private equity/venture capital owned. His experience includes advisory services relating to operational management meeting, cost reduction/containment analysis, profitability analysis, inventory management, human capital allocation with the implementation of technology, cash flow modeling. With regards to the retail industry Michael has knowledge and experience the point of sale systems and the associated risks.

Michael heads the Employee benefit plan practice for the Firm and has developed efficiencies within the audit practice. Michael advises clients on plan design to maximize benefits to the key executives and or targeted group. He also assists clients with department of labor and IRS examinations and Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program (VFCP) submissions.

Michael received his BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University. Michael graduated from the FranklinCovey Leadership Program and has participated in Lean Manufacturing Programs. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michael also presents at continuing education courses.

Michael is a board member of the Meadowlands YMCA and is an active participate in the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce. Michael was the former chair of the Cooperation with Bankers Interest Group for the NJ Society of CPA’s.
